2016 Pinot Noir, Helluva Vineyard
The Helluva Vineyard is primarily comprised of Pommard clone with lesser amounts of Rochioli selection sourced from the warmer end of the Anderson Valley near Boonville. This vineyard reliably provides ripe bright red fruit flavors. Aromas of candied red cherries and cream with notes of cinnamon and clove. Bright red fruit notes are deceiving as this wine soon moves towards the dark side. Concentrated with a brambly-berry fruit character of Himalayan black berries, black cherries covered in hints of dusky oak woodland. Round in the mouth with supple tannins punctuated on the finish with fresh acidity. Aged in French oak barrels (33% new), for 10 months and filtered before bottling.
