2023 Pinot Noir, RSM Vineyard Magnum
The RSM vineyard located high above the valley has been farmed and certified organic since 2017. Cool spring and summer temperatures continued through September resulting in a long hang time and later harvest. Yields were moderate with a return to typical rainfall patterns. This offering, a blend of Dijon clones 115, 667 and Pommard, has aromas of pie crust, cherries, resinous pine, and candy cap mushrooms. Flavors of ripe black cherries, huckleberry, cola, mushroom broth, finishing with hints of clove. This concentrated wine is full bodied on the palate with noticeable acidity and fine cocoa tannins. Aged for 16 months in all French oak barrels (33% new).
