2025 Gewürztraminer, Anderson Valley
The fruit for this wine came from our organically farmed Handley Estate Vineyard Block 8, planted in 1997. Rain during harvest delayed picking extending hang time and enhancing ripeness. Aromas of lychee, rose, orange zest, with hints of citrus blossoms and jasmine on the palate. Dry and medium bodied. Flavors or ruby red grapefruit, lychee, kiwi, sweet lime, with notes of ginger. Pressed full cluster, fermentation was started in stainless steel then racked to 500 L neutral wood puncheons. Stirred on the lees, and aged 5 months to add body. It was bottled early to avoid malolactic fermentation and preserve the refreshing fruit character.
