Estate Vineyard, Anderson Valley
Dry and warm conditions during the 2014 vintage resulted in an early harvest. Limited availability of water in the soil, and for irrigation, lessened yields but concentrated the flavors in the grapes. The intensity of our old vine Martini clone is balanced by the suppleness of our younger Dijon 777 clone. Both are CCOF organically farmed. This perfumed wine features aromas of violets, fresh baked cherry pie, forest floor, with creamy and toasty overtones. The flavors are of dark red cherry, ripe plum, and cinnamon. This Estate Vineyard Pinot is an elegant wine with polished, silky tannins. Firm acidity focuses the bright fruit for a long and complex finish. The wine was aged for 10 months in all French oak (33% new), before being sterile filtered for bottling.
