For those who know, our Ranch House Red blend is always a great deal. A secret not well kept, so best to order it quickly when available. This year's blend is comprised of Merlot (86.6%), Cabernet Sauvignon (6.7%), and Syrah (6.7%). Anderson Valley is not known for these varietals, so we source these grapes from Mendocino Ridge and inland Mendocino, and call this Bordeaux style blend Ranch House Red. Rich aromas of pepper, tomato leaf, and briary leather effuse from the glass. This wine has concentrated dark fruit flavors of cassis and blackberry, with hints of spice, anise, and cocoa beans. It is full bodied and round on the palate with smooth chocolate tannins complimented by crisp acidity. The bold flavors and acidity in this wine pair wonderfully with a well marbled ribeye smothered in gorgonzola butter. Aged for 18 months in neutral French oak barrels.
