The Green vineyard is located high above the fog line one ridge isolated from the Pacific Ocean. This protected site provides cool and dry conditions optimal for ripening this thin-skinned variety prone to rot. This vineyard was first planted in the early 1970's on its own roots providing pure Riesling varietal flavors. This wine exhibits the freshness and crispness of pressed and creased white cloth napkins on a perfectly set table. Its bouquet of citrus fruit and honey suckle, with subtle hints of petrol wafts from the glass. Prominent stone fruit flavors of nectarine and peach are featured subsiding to reveal notes of candied lime and kiwi. This wine is almost completely dry with only the smallest hints of residual sugar to balance its exuberant acidity. Its opulent mouthfeel is punctuated by racy acidity prolonging the vivid peach flavors on the finish. The zippy acid and clean flavors in this wine pair well with creamy or buttery sauces such as pasta in cream sauce with
fresh spring peas and smoked ham. Primarily fermented in stainless steel, a small portion aged on the lees in neutral oak barrels.
