2018 Sauvignon Blanc, Meyer Vineyard, Anderson Valley
The Meyer Vineyard is located on a rolling ridge top above Boonville. Yields are minimal on this small family vineyard. With little water available for irrigation the gnarled old vines provide intense aromatics and concentrated flavors. This wine refreshes like dew on fresh cut grass on a cool summer morning. It effuses aromas of citronella and Meyer lemon blossoms with slight musque and cream notes. Round and full on the palate, bright flavors lemon lime, passion fruit, and kiwi bound from the glass. Flavors on the finish are long and persistent focused by lively acidity with noticeable wet stone minerality. Mostly fermented in stainless steel with a small portion aged on the lees in neutral oak barrels.
Bottled March 7, 2019. Cases produced 218, alcohol 13.4%, titratable acidity 6.1 g/L, and pH 3.41.
