2020 Pinot Noir Roderick Ranch Vineyard, Anderson Valley

Pinot Noir
Roderick Ranch Vineyard, Anderson Valley

This small family-owned vineyard located in the extreme Deep End is planted with a mix of Dijon clones 115 and 777 and is always one of the last vineyards to be harvested in Anderson Valley. This is the first vintage employing only organic farming practices as part of its three-year transition to become organic certified by CCOF. This offering is medium-bodied, showing aromas of ripe strawberries, violets, caramel, cream, nutmeg, and hints of wet earth. This wine has a sweet fruit core with flavors of red cherries, red plum, raspberries, hibiscus tea, with hints of cardamom. Round on the palate with crisp acidity framing the velvety finish with notes of salinity. Aged for 10 months in all French Oak barrels (33% new). No animal derived compounds were used in the production of this wine.
