Ranch House Red is always a great value intended for every night drinking with friends. It varies each vintage depending on what might be available and fun to work with. The composition of this blend is primarily Zinfandel (78.6%) combined with Syrah (16.7%), both from Redwood Valley, and a splash of Pinot Noir (4.7%) from Yorkville Highlands. The wine is very fruit forward, plush on the palate with moderate alcohol. On the nose it shows aromas of graphite, red plum and sandalwood spice. Flavors of blackberry, briary fruit, ripe red plum, and raspberry with hints of anise. Concentrated with milk chocolate tannins. Aged for 24 months in older neutral barrels adds to its softness.
