BRAND NEW VINTAGE

Made with organically farmed grapes from our Handley block 4 Pinot Noir, Roederer selection planted in 1990. Located next to our pond, it was planted for our sparkling program, and it is usually our first block to be picked. Its warm location provides us with ripe fruit character balanced by the cool vintage, which preserved its crisp natural acidity. The fruit was picked cold and pressed whole cluster. Fermentation began in tank and racked in a mix of stainless steel to preserve fruit, and neutral barrels to allow stirring on the lees and create roundness on the palate. Sterile filtered, malolactic fermentation was avoided, and the wine was bottled with a slight effervescence. It is refreshing with restrained alcohol but plenty of fruit focused by a crisp finish. Essences of narcissus, fresh strawberries, and cucumbers. Full on the palate with lively mouth-watering acidity, showing flavors of watermelon, strawberries, lime, and wet stone.
