Roderick Ranch Vineyard, Anderson Valley

This small family-owned vineyard located in the extreme Deep End is planted with a mix of Dijon clones 115 and 777 and is always one of the last vineyards to be harvested in Anderson Valley. This is its first vintage to be organically certified by CCOF. Cold winter and spring temperatures followed by mild summer temperatures slowed ripening. This offering is medium-bodied, showing aromas of rose petals, hibiscus tea, molasses, and notes of lilac. It has flavors of black plum, raspberries, cranberries, rhubarb, root beer, and hints of cardamom. This wine is smooth on the palate with focusing acidity and noticeable fine tannins on the finish. Aged for 16 months in all French Oak barrels (33% new).
